Garo Hills schools shine in SSLC

Tura’s Sherwood School takes top honours

TURA: Students from Garo Hills brought laurels to their respective schools in the just declared results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) with as many as eight students finding a spot in the Top 20 list.
It was Sherwood School, Tura, who produced the topper in Subhadeep Mandal and also dominated the list from schools in Garo Hills by securing six spots while Embee Rosebud Secondary School and St. Xavier’s Secondary School, both also from Tura, finding a spot each.
Others from Garo Hills in the toppers’ list included Pankaj Yadav (4th position) from Embee Rosebud Secondary School, Tura, Aditya Tewari (5th position) Arijit Ghosh and Kunal Choudhury (7th), Manali Paul (10th) and Ratik Agarwal (13th) all from Sherwood School, Tura, while Clarissa Ch Marak from St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Tura, took the 14th spot.
Sadly though, there was nothing to cheer about the HSSLC (Arts) result declared on the same day as not a single candidate from Garo Hills made it to the toppers’ list.
SSLC toppers from outside of Garo Hills included Ricarldy Dkhar (Mawlai Presbyterian Secondary School, Shillong) 2nd, Lapdianghun Nongklaw (Auxilliam Girls’ HS School, Shillong) 3rd, Bankitor M Nongrum (Seng Khasi HS School, Shillong) and Mebalari Thankiew (Christian Academy, Shillong) 5th, Frisky Marngar (Anderson HS School, Nongstoin) and IIahun Sohklet (Don Bosco Secondary School, Byrnihat) 6th, Monica Niengiithoi Tungdim (Auxillium Girls’ HS School, Shillong) 7th, Heirtami Paswet (KJP Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School, Jowai) 8th, Almonson Kharwanlang (Seven Set HS School, Shillong) 9th, Daphilasuk Rynthathiang (St. Gabriel’s HS School, Upper Shillong) 11th, Ebenhaezer H Rymbui (All Saint’s Diocesan HS School, Shillong), Rohit Ghosh (St Anthony’s HS School, Shillong), Ankita Thapa (St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong) and Na I Sabet Dohdong (Synod HS School, Shillong) 12th, Abadahun Shisha Lyngkhoi (St. Dominic Savio’s HS School, Shillong) 13th, Subhojit Dutta (Jail Road Boys’ HS School, Shillong) and Badarilin Marwein (Synod HS School, Shillong) 14th, Vikash Sharma (St. Anthony’s HS School, Shillong), Erinia Octoqueen Khongdiet (St. Francis D’ Assisi Secondary School, Shillong), Judy Kharpan (Private candidate) and Banriakor Myrthong (Anderson HS School, Nongstoin) 15th, Leiyachui R S (St John’s Whitehall Secondary School, Shillong) and Adiel Joezer Mutyen (Christian Academy, Shillong) 16th, Aditi Das (Private) 17th, Vicky Sarmah (St. Anthony’s HS School, Shillong) 18th, Satyantika Pal (St. Mary’s HS School, Shillong), Dimpi Medhi (St. George Secondary School, Nongmynsong), Garryson Dkhar (RK Mission HS School, Cherrapunjee) and Wyatt Mc Daniel Tynsong (St. Anthony’s HS School, Shillong) 19th, and Sourav Paul (Seven Set HS School, Shillong) and Naphisa Pde (St. Mary Mazzarello Girls’ HS School, Jowai) 20th.
