Tura’s Sherwood School takes top honours

TURA: Students from Garo Hills brought laurels to their respective schools in the just declared results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) with as many as eight students finding a spot in the Top 20 list.
It was Sherwood School, Tura, who produced the topper in Subhadeep Mandal and also dominated the list from schools in Garo Hills by securing six spots while Embee Rosebud Secondary School and St. Xavier’s Secondary School, both also from Tura, finding a spot each.
Others from Garo Hills in the toppers’ list included Pankaj Yadav (4th position) from Embee Rosebud Secondary School, Tura, Aditya Tewari (5th position) Arijit Ghosh and Kunal Choudhury (7th), Manali Paul (10th) and Ratik Agarwal (13th) all from Sherwood School, Tura, while Clarissa Ch Marak from St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Tura, took the 14th spot.
Sadly though, there was nothing to cheer about the HSSLC (Arts) result declared on the same day as not a single candidate from Garo Hills made it to the toppers’ list.
