Order on use of beacons on vehicles

SHILLONG: The Government of Meghalaya has issued notification permitting persons engaged in emergency duty such as ambulance, fire service, emergency maintenance, police and armed forces to use beacons on their vehicles.
This was informed by the Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Transport Department.
Ambulances are to use blue beacon; fire service, police and armed forces will be permitted to use red beacon; emergency maintenance with amber beacon and police patrol vehicles will use multi-coloured beacon.
This order comes into force with immediate effect, the notification said.
