NIA announces cash award on Khaplang, Niki Sumit

Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has declared cash reward for any reliable information on two ‘absconding’ accused belonging to Naga rebel group NSCN(K) wanted in NIA Crime No.04/2015/NIA/DLI.
These two top leaders of the NSCN-K are : Niki Sumi, resident of Surumi police station  jurisdiction in Zhunehboto, Nagaland and S.S. Khaplang (Shangwang Shangyungi) Resident of Pangsau district of Myanmar. Rs ten lakh award has been announced on information on Niki Sumi and Rs Seven lakh for information on Khaplang.
S.S. Khaplang is head of the NSCN (K) group and Niki Sumi is holding the charge of armed wing of said group. An NIA communiqué informed that they were closely associated with the decision to attack Assam Rifles personnel at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on March 26, 20015 and subsequent string of attacks on armed forces including the attack on 6 Dogra Regiment Convoy in Chandel district of Manipur on June 4 , 2015 killing 18 Army personnel.
“Any person from public, giving any reliable information about the whereabouts of these hard core terrorists,leading to their arrest will be rewarded with money as mentioned above.
The identity of the informer will be kept secret,” the NIA announced on Thursday.
