Support for HYC’s Sept 14 peace rally

SHILLONG: As many as eight pressure groups have offered their support to September 14 peace march called by  the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) demanding withdrawal of the Ordinance the state government had promulgated to empower headmen.
Informing this here on Saturday, HYC president Peter J Lawai said “We are happy to see various groups coming forward to extend support to our agitation.”
The groups which have extended support to HYC’s peace march are
HANM, MPUF, NWYF, JNU, EJNC, WJNC, RBSU and HPF. Informing that peace march will start from Motphran, Lawai urged all the stakeholders including the MDCs to participate in it.
According to Lawai, the district administration has granted permission for the march.
