AMPATI: After its launch in Shillong, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma introduced the skill training on Zardozi craft including training and facilitation to skill rural entrepreneurs for manufacturing Meghalaya-specific souvenirs and gifts under Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme for Women and Youth in his constituency Ampati on Saturday.
The programme, organized by District Commerce and Industries Centre, Ampati also witnessed fashion elaboration on Zardozi concept which was supported by JD Institute of Fashion.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also informed about the training programmes in apparel making being conducted in Mahendraganj and Ampati and the 45000 sq ft apparel and garment centre that is coming up at Hatisil near Ampati and sanctioning of additional industrial promotion centres in the State where thousands of skilled workforce would be required.
Joint Director, Commerce & Industries, Tura, N. Suting and General Manager, DCIC, Ampati were among others who spoke on the occasion.
