X-Men: Apocalypse”     writer-producer Si    mon Kinberg has debunked rumours that pop star Taylor Swift will make a cameo appearance as the mutant in the upcoming film.
Rumours that Swift, 25, would make a cameo appearance as mutant Dazzler in upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse” emerged when Kinberg was photographed with the “Bad Blood” singer alongside other cast members such as James McAvoy and Sophie Turner.
While promoting “The Martian” at the Toronto International Film Festival, Kinberg shut down the rumours and also explained how the speculation popped out, reported Ace Showbiz.
“No, there’s nothing to it. I know where the rumours came from, because it’s my fault,” Kinberg said. When Swift’s tour came to Montreal, where “Apocalypse” was being filmed, Kinberg, McAvoy, Turner, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne were so excited and they didn’t want to miss the concert. When the photograph was taken, Kinberg was with some of the movie’s cast members attending Swift’s concert in Montreal. The singer invited them afterwards and took a picture together.
“So we went to the show, me and those people, and then she invited us to come back and meet her afterwards,” Kinberg said.
“It was just a photo backstage at the concert, and that was the only time we ever saw her. That’s where that particular rumours came from.”
Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Oscar Isaac and Alexandra Shipp are other actors in the cast. Taking place a decade after “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, the movie will be released in the US on May 27, 2016. (PTI)
