Water supply scheme inaugurated in Ri Bhoi village

NONGPOH: The PHE department, Ri Bhoi District inaugurated the Greater Umden Combined Water Supply Scheme at Lumdieng village under Umden area.  The inauguration was done by the chief adviser to the state government, DD Lapang who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The scheme was funded by the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Scheme Programme (ARWSSP) and implemented by the department of PHE at the sanctioned amount of Rs. 3, 12, 68700. This scheme will cater to eight villages under Umden area.
Speaking on the occasion, Lapang appreciated the local leaders of the area and the people at large for extending support and cooperation in the successful implementation of the scheme. He also urged the residents to utilise water in a proper way.
