Birth centenary celebration of Swami Chinmayanandaji observed

SHILLONG: The birth centenary celebration of Swami Chinmayanandaji was observed by Chinmaya Mission, Shillong at the Meditation Hall of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture (SAIIC) on Tuesday evening. Attended by hundred of devotees, the ‘Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra Sandesh Vahini’ depicted a 16-minute recorded discourse by Swami Chinmayanandaji telling about the realities in which humankind is living and the actions not meeting the real targets.
The recorded discourse, which was displayed in a screen, for e.g. depicted him saying about the government spending crores of money in Ganga rejuvenation whereas it is not eyeing the numerous pollution industrial units on its banks.
Visiting monks, Swami Mitranandaji and Swami Chaitanyanandaji enlightened the devotees on life and teachings of Swami Chinmayanandaji.
A pictorial depiction in a bus of the life of Swami Chinmayanandaji which started its journey from Ernakulam in Kerala has covered 11 states so far and is at present parked at the SAIIC campus. The bus will cover all states in the country till December, this year.
Several wings of Chinmaya Mission like Cord for rural development, Temples, Schools and Colleges, Study Group and Devi Group for elders, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra for youths, Bala Vihar for children and Sandeepany Sadhanalya are on display with details. His message to the Parliament of Religion is a great attraction besides the publications of Chinmaya Prakashan.
