KSU inspects migrant labourers

NONGSTOIN:  The Khasi Student Union West and South West  Khasi Hills District on Friday conducted a spot inspection of the migrant labourers of BSC C&C JV, the company which is in-charge of the construction of Nongstoin- Mawthabah Road, stationed at Mariem village of SWKH.
The inspection was led by Wellessly Lyngkhoi, General Secretary KSU, WKH and Forwardman Nongrem, General Secretary KSU, SWKH in the presence of almost 100 members of the Union.  During the inspection, the Union found that around 37 outsiders are working without valid documents, including work permit, labour license or police verification.
The KSU leaders said that they won’t allow any labourer from outside the state to stay in any part of West Khasi Hills without providing proper documents. They urged the higher authority to take steps on the matter.
