EmergE 2015 kicks off at IIM Shillong

SHILLONG: The 4th edition of EmergE – the Annual Entrepreneurship Summit, kick started at IIM Shillong here on Saturday.
The event is being organised by IIM Shillong’s Entrepreneurial Cell, i-Cube kick.
Sponsored by State Bank of India, EmergE 2015 is set to be two exciting days of intense competition. The brightest minds from the best of institutes from across the country will be battling it out in a display of entrepreneurial talent.
Inaugurated by Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, M. Rajeshwar Rao, the two day extravaganza kick started with the felicitation of the Vasundhara awardees for 2015, an initiative by the SSM of Guwahati in collaboration with IIM Shillong, to recognize women entrepreneurs of the North Eastern States.
Among a multitude of achievements from starting successful businesses to expanding tourism for the state, the mission recognizes one success story from each of the eight North-eastern states of the country.
Distinguished businesses today, but only a plan on paper a few years ago, this edition of EmergE will feature distinguished speakers who dared to dream and turned it into reality.
Business heads from established start-ups like Paytm, eCourierz.com and Ivy Camp are set to grace the stage and share their journeys with the future entrepreneurs of India. The institute will also host established businessmen in the ‘Experts’ Speak’ segment, with speakers, Vishal Kaul, Category Head, Smartphones & Tablets at Samsung and Karan Gambhir, Industry Head, Technologywith Google. Key competitions at the event would include R€vo£u$N, the B-plan competition and Reveal, the case study competition, which will provide participants a stage to display skills in the business and management domain.
These competitions are part of a legacy established by the institute to nurture future entrepreneurs by corporate leaders and real-world competitive challenges.
