SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress condemned the decision of Modi Government to discontinue the postage stamps of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, both of whom were assassinated while holding office.
According to them, it shows disrespect to the martyrs and the petty minded  politics of the BJP regime. The Indian Youth Congress staged massive protest outside the residence of BJP leader and Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad over this issue in New Delhi on September 17.  The protest was led by IYC President Amarinder Singh Raja.
‘‘It is a crucked mindset of the ruling BJP Government which resulted in removal of the memory of the two martyr Prime Ministers of the country,” Youth Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja said. Hundreds of Youth Congress activists marched towards Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad house. Protesters raised slogans against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hatred towards congress leaders.
