Advisory against fake online property ads

SHILLONG: Shillong police has issued an advisory against ‘fake advertisements’ for sale of plots and buildings in the city on online sites like OLX which are being put up without the knowledge of the owners.
East Khasi Hills SP, M Kharkrang said those involved in putting up the advertisements are not part of organised gangs but are agents. “We have identified them and told them not to advertise without the owner’s knowledge,” Kharkrang said.
Meanwhile, one Rodrick S Marbaniang lodged a complaint that on September21, one Dany fraudulently offered to sell his plot of land at Pohkseh Main Road for sale on OLX.
