Govt launches Mission Football

SHILLONG:   The sports department has launched ‘Mission Football’ with an aim to promote talents in the field of football and also to develop infrastructure at the grassroots level.
Sports Minister Zenith Sangma in reply to a supplementary question raised by Ardent Basaiawmoit (HSPDP) said in the Assembly on Wednesday that with Mission Football, “the Government is trying to provide small infrastructure facilities in every nook and corner of the state which will be effective to help the upcoming footballers in the State.”
He said the plan of the Government is to provide assistance to footballers at the block levels.
