Five-yr ban on ULFA

SHILLONG: Assam based United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) has been banned for five years.
A recent notification said that “adjudication report confirming the ban on United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) with effect from  27.11.2014 for five years by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal has been published vide a notification”.
The ban on ULFA comes after a series of hearing by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal.
Earlier, the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) was also banned for five years after the meeting of the Tribunal.
