Come Saturday, music     and dance fans of     Shillong and across the Northeast will move to the tune of the Submerge Dance Project, a world class EDM concert at Orchid Lake Resort, Umiam.  Boasting an enviable line up, Sumberge Dance Project will deliver dance music’s marquee names and the event is expected to be a grand electronic music festival.Another unique selling point of te event is the scenic location – the beautiful Umiam Lake-which completes the overall package, providing a perfect fit to the vibrant electronic dance evening, which promises to enthral, ignite and captivate the audience with star studded electronic beats by three stellar DJs – Albin Myers, Nikhil Chinapa and Nawed Khan. Local talents like Arpan, Sev and B2B will also perform on the occasion.
Submerge Dance Project’s popularity has continued to grow over the years, since its inception in 2003 by Nikhil Chinapa, Pearl and Hermit Sethi, with the main aim to connect Indian dance music fans with the best DJs from around the world.
Dance music has been a cultural constant across the country for decades and Submerge along with Centre Point Entertainment Network (CPEN) are all set to raise the curtain on October 3 at Orchid Lake Resort from 3pm onwards.
To complement the world class music and DJs, the lighting and sound will be second to none and the amazing atmosphere is guaranteed to set the crowd ablaze.
The combination of top production quality equipment, sound, lighting and stage gear, coupled with the music, promise to make it a grand event.
Not to mention the comprehensive food and beverage section, where revellers can take a breather from all the energetic dancing.
Although Swedish DJ Albin Myers has never travelled to North East India, he expressed his excitement and said,”I’ve never travelled to the North East India before and I’m really excited to come there. I love to travel around India and hopefully I’ll get some spare time in my tour schedule to do some sightseeing.”
The Mighty Mohawk DJ, also shared his thoughts on the current EDM Scene and how the genre has grown and evolved over the years.
“EDM has gone from an underground culture to the biggest stages worldwide in less than a decade. The EDM style has become more pop oriented but it also has helped a lot of sub genres in dance music to become bigger,” he said.
The Passes for the dance and music festival can be obtained from Hotel Centre Point Police Bazar, Swish Cafe, Laitumkhrah and Cafe Shillong Laitumkhrah among others.
