Crime against women

SHILLONG: The City Police on Thursday recovered the body of a woman identified as Cynthia Syiemlieh (50) from her residence at Madanrting Block-E.
The body has abrasion marks on the left cheek. Police have not ruled out foul play and are awaiting the post mortem report to shed more light into the incident.
This is not the first such case in the city as recently a body of a woman was found near Assam Rifles Bazar, Happy Valley. The woman was brutally murdered.
In another such incident, Police had recovered the body of Ibansara Mawrie (27) from a forest in Rynjah. Later one Ricky Mawrie was arrested for allegedly raping and subsequently murdering his cousin sister Mawrie.
In another case, on September 9, a body of a woman, Krap Langstang (42) was recovered from Thadsning Road, West Jaiñtia Hills.
Police had arrested one Taining Suchiang (30) in this connection.
