Ardent set to succeed Hoping

SHILLONG: HSPDP vice president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit is all set to step into the large shoes of party supremo late Hoping Stone Lyngdoh.
The HSPDP Central Executive Committee (CEC) in a meeting on here Tuesday nominated Basaiawmoit as the acting president of the party.
Basaiawmoit is now all set to be elected party president during the General Council meeting scheduled to be held at the State Central Library on October 16.
When contacted, the Nongkrem legislator said the party would also elect new office bearers of the CEC during the meeting slated for October 16.
He also informed that the CEC discussed issues pertaining to the bye-election in Nongstoin Assembly constituency and in the six district council constituencies of the KHADC and one in the JHADC.
“We have directed our party workers to start preparing the ground work for the elections,” Basaiawmoit added.
