Will Smith to tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff next year
Hollywood star Will Smith is planning to tour with frequent collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff next year. Smith, 47, revealed that he has worked on new music while working on his upcoming thriller Suicide Squad, and has recorded up to 30 tracks, reported Us magazine. “Jeff and I actually have never done a full tour. I was always on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or making a movie. I’m looking this summer to be the first time we go out on a full world tour. I’m terrified,” Smith said during Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. The actor-singer and Jazzy Jeff have collaborated on and off stage with the DJ even guest starring on ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. The duo have worked on hits such as “Summertime” and “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” Smith returned to music after 10 years with a remix of Bomba Estereo’s “Fiesta.” “I’ve been away doing some other stuff. Making kids and stuff. You know, it takes a little bit of your attention away. I’m at the beginning of this process. Shaking the rust off, knocking the dust off,” the actor said. (PTI)
Seth Grahame-Smith to helm ‘The Flash’ movie?
Seth Grahme-Smith, the best-selling author of “Ab raham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and “Pride and Prej udice and Zombies”, is reportedly in negotiations to direct and write the Warner Bros’ superhero movie “The Flash”. The film is based on the iconic DC Entertainment scarlet speedster superhero. If the deal if signed, it will mark Grahme-Smith’s feature directorial debut, said The Hollywood Reporter. The movie project has a treatment from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the “Lego” Movie duo that were also eyeing it as a possible directing vehicle. “The Flash” already has a release date, March 3, 2018, and an actor, who will portray the classic hero known as “the fastest man alive” – Ezra Miller. Miller’s Flash, aka Barry Allen, is due to be introduced in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, and then more prominently in Justice League Part 1, which will be released in the summer of 2017. Charles Roven is producing the movie. Deborah and Zack Snyder are executive producing. Grahame-Smith has directed episodes of “The Hard Times of RJ Berger”, an MTV comedy he co-created with his producing partner David Katzenberg. (PTI)
Taika Waititi in talks to direct ‘Thor 3’
Taika Waititi is in negotiations to direct “Thor: Ragnarok”, the third installment in Marvel’s “Thor” franchise. The New Zealand native helmed several episodes of the TV series “Flight of the Conchords” in addition to writing and directed the vampire spoof “What We Do in the Shadows” and the indie comedy “Eagle vs Shark”, reported Variety. Waititi, 40, also penned the script for Disney’s upcoming animated movie “Moana”. The filmmaker also acted as the character Tom Kalmaku 2011’s “Green Lantern” opposite Ryan Reynolds. Kenneth Branagh directed 2011’s original “Thor” and Alan Taylor helmed “Thor: The Dark World” in 2013. The first film grossed USD 449 million worldwide and the sequel took in USD 645 million. Chris Hemsworth will return as the titular superhero. Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) will be back to star as well. The script for “Thor: Ragnarok” has been written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle. Yost was a co-writer on “Thor: The Dark World”. “Thor: Ragnarok” to hit theaters on November 3, 2017. (PTI)
