BSF nabs ex-ULFA porter

SHILLONG: The BSF troops deployed at Purakhasia in West Garo Hills, apprehended a Bangladeshi national who used to help cadres of the banned ULFA in their cross border movements and provide them with basic amenities.   The Bangladesh national, identified as Romal Marak (20) of Sherpur, was held while he was exfiltrating into Bangladesh.
One mobile with an Airtel SIM and Indian currency was recovered from his possession.
Marak said that while earlier he used to help the ULFA cadres in their cross border movements but now he was involved in petty smuggling.
Meanwhile, on the same night, BSF troops apprehended two Bangladeshi smugglers identified as Ali Ahmed (12) and Abdul Haque (20) from Sunamganj, Bangladesh, when they were infiltrating into Indian territory at Gumaghat, South West Khasi Hills. One wooden boat, two mobile phones with Bangladeshi SIM cards and some Bangladesh Takka was recovered from their possession.
It was learnt that these persons were involved in smuggling of coal from India to Bangladesh through the Jadukata river.
In another incident, the BSF troops deployed at Baburambill, South Garo Hills, apprehended one Bangladeshi national, Nirob M Sangma, (19) hailing from Sherpur with six bottles of liquor while he was ex-filtrating from India to Bangladesh.
