New Delhi: The Delhi government will organise a three-day Northeast festival that will begin from October 16.
“The festival will showcase various facets of northeast. We are inviting tour operators across Delhi and many foreign tourists are expected,” Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said on Monday.
The fete will take place at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in the heart of the national capital where 40 musical bands will perform.
Thirty dance forms will also be showcased.
“Around 60 tribal artisans textile entrepreneurs will showcase some of the best of northeast handloom and handicrafts. There would be a buyers-sellers meet as well,” the minister said.
Mishra said that at least three lakh people are expected to throng the festival. (IANS)
