SHILLONG: Traffic violators in the city would now have to undergo a two-hour counseling session which will be held twice a month at Sadar Police Station.
This was informed during a road safety programme initiated by the Shillong Traffic Police here on Wednesday.
“There is a need to reach out to violators and counsel them in order to make Shillong a safe place for motorists,” SP M Kharkrang said.
The STP also resolved to strictly enforce the traffic rules and take action against violators.
Kharkrang also said that Sadar PS is a model police station which has all the amenities and infrastructure in place.
“From a separate women’s police station to traffic branch, control room and counseling centre, Sadar PS has it all,” he said.
He informed that once CCTV coverage is expanded, separate CCTV control rooms will also be set up in other police stations.
