Trader abducted in WKH

NONGSTOIN: The owner of a drug store was on Saturday morning abducted from Swangre, four Km from Shallang in West Khasi Hills.
The victim, identified as one Akbar Ali hailing from Goalpara District of Assam who has set up a drug store at Rongjeg, was abducted from near the stone crushing unit of BSC CC &JV at Swangre by armed miscreants at around 9 am on Saturday.
Police source told that the incident was occurred at 9: am while he was travelling on a Maruti Van at Swangre of West Khasi Hills bordering East Garo Hills.
Sources said that no militant group has made a demand or claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
Sources added that SWAT and BSF personnel deployed at Shallang are conducting  search operations in and around the area to rescue the trader.
