SHILLONG: The Unitarian Church, Puriang, in a function held on October 20, facilitated Babu Ditol Mylliemngap, Principal of Unitarian Higher Secondary School, Puriang, for having won the UNESCO’s Global Teacher Role Model Award 2015 which was presented in Mumbai earlier.
“It is the teachings of my parents, my teachers and God’s leading that I was able to achieve this honour, this award has brought about the recognition of Puriang village and Meghalaya as a whole,” Mylliemngap said in his speech.
It is informed that more awards will be coming his way as he will be presented with the Global Hall of Fame Teacher’s Award in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 18, Global Achiever’s Award on January 12, 2016 and another award at a Special Function to be held at New Jersey, U.S. in May 2016.
He is also the recipient of the Special Conference Award at Hyderabad given away on January 27, 2015.
He is also the recipient of the District Teachers’ Award presented in 2013.
