AIR NES to celebrate silver jubilee on Friday

SHILLONG: North Eastern Service of All India Radio, Shillong, will celebrate its Silver Jubilee by organizing a seminar and a special cultural extravaganza ‘Silver Waves’ on November 6.
The seminar titled ‘Service and impact of North Eastern Service’ will be held at the KJP Assembly Hall from 11 am.    Dr. Helen Giri, retd. Head, Department of Creative Art, NEHU, Rubaiyat -ul Ali, technical director, National Informatics Centre, Guwahati and Ashish Bhatnagar, DDG Engineering, AIR, Pune, will be among the main speakers.
The cultural extravaganza will take place at U Soso Tham Auditorium from 4:30 pm. Cultural troupes from all the eight Northeastern states will perform. Governor V. Shanmuganathan will be the chief guest.
It may be reminded that the North Eastern Service of AIR, Shillong, began its operations on January 3, 1990.
