NE security personnel shine in human rights debate competition

SHILLONG: Two BSF personnel from the Northeast, Manmohan Sharma and K.G. Krishna Kumar secured first and second prizes respectively in the debate competition in English organized jointly  by National Human Rights Commission in collaboration with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday on the issues related to human rights.
In a statement issued to the media, NHRC said that the Central Industrial Security  Force (CISF) has lifted the overall best team rolling trophy winning the final round of All India Inter-Para Military Forces debate competition in Hindi and English.
The topic of the debate competition was “Human Rights Act as a hindrance to the security forces in performing their duties”. Among the individual honours, the first prize for debate in Hindi went to Laxmikant Sharma, CISF and in English to Manmohan Sharma, BSF, North-East Zone.
The second prize holders are Ankit Dubey, CISF, UP Zone (Hindi) and K.G. Krishna Kumar, BSF, NE Zone (English).
The third prize in Hindi went to Yogesh Kumar, Assam Rifles, NE Zone and in English to Irina Pegu, CISF, Delhi Zone.
Consolation prize in Hindi went to Rajesh Kumar Dutt, Constable, BSF, West Zone and in English to Vivek Kumar, Sub Inspector, CISF, Central Zone.  Justice Cyriac Joseph was the chief guest of the programme.
