SHILLONG: One week after the abduction of havildar Khomraj Bhattarai of the 6th MLP Battalion, police continue to be clueless with police officials only stating that search operation were on and police were taking the help of villagers to trace their colleague.
Police, however, made it clear that there were no indications that he had been killed.
“We also know that so far ransom has not been asked from the family,” police said.
The militants dragged out Bhattarai from the vehicle along with another civilian, believed to be from Krishnai town in Assam, and took them away into the forests on November 6.
The kidnapped havildar had taken leave to be with his family in Shillong and was returning to join work when the incident occurred.
