JOWAI: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation (AJYWO) has condemned the action taken by the West Jaintia Hills District Administration against the students of Kiang Nangbah Government College.
“Using of water cannon, tear gas and lathi charging the students of Kiang Nangbah Government College is an unprofessional action on the part of District”, a statement issued by AJYWO President, MH Dkhar stated.
The AJYWO chief has also informed that his organization is extending its full support to demands made by the Kiang Nangbah Government College Students Union (KNGCSU).
According to AJYWO the FIR filed by the district against leaders of pressure groups in West Jaintia Hills is politically motivated so that no one will raise the issues of the KNGCSU. The AJYWO has demanded that FIR against the pressure groups including leaders of the KNGCSU be withdrawn.
