High Court to hear dual-post PIL today

SHILLONG:  The crucial hearing of the PIL on dual post pending with the High Court of Meghalaya will be held on Thursday.
The pending PIL has been listed as item no. 3 of the Full Bench of the High Court of Meghalaya.
The last hearing was held on November 2.
In the past hearings, the Court had asked the Meghalaya Governor to decide on the dual post as he was the competitive authority.
In line with the stand of the Governor, the Assembly passed the dual post Bill which became effective from October 1.
While seven MLAs quit the posts of MDCs after the passing of Bill by the State Assembly, the KHADC CEM P N Syiem continues to hold the posts MDC as well as MLA.
