SHILLONG: “Education scam-affected candidate” Nazmul Hashan of Phulbari, West Garo Hills, who had written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) seeking justice has said that the State Government is yet to send him any reply even after a direction from the PMO to both the Chief Secretary and Secretary, department of school education seeking action on the matter.
It was on September 9 this year that the PMO had sought appropriate action from the Chief Secretary and the education official after Hashan sought its intervention through a letter written on September 1.
Hashan on Wednesday deplored that while the PMO was prompt to send its reply within a week, the state government has not made any effort to intimate him of the appropriate action taken by it. Though the High Level Scrutiny Committee had recommended the termination of services of many teachers who were ‘tainted’,  ironically they continue to serve in various LP schools whereas others who are qualified are yet to get justice, Hashan added. He urged the state government to  appoint the eligible candidates after terminating the services of the tainted ones.
