Public hearing on health rights

SHILLONG:  The National Human Rights Commission in collaboration with Jan Swasthya Abhiyan will conduct public hearing on health rights in the North East and the rest of the country next year.
Informing this here on Wednesday, Coordinator, campaign for people’s right to health in Meghalaya, Phrangsngi Pyrtuh said that the public hearing will be conducted in February in Guwahati.
He said that the idea behind the public hearing is to get feedback for the national health policy   which is being prepared by the Union Government.
The tentative date for the hearing is from February 18-19. Those intending to participate in the hearing with their grievances should prepare their documentation and the committee will help them in the same.
Each regional public hearing would be a two day event and the theme of the day one would be   promoting health rights in the context of public health system while the theme for day two will be ensuring patients rights in context of private medical care providers.
