Jowai school principal accused of kidnapping two girls

JOWAI: Jowai Police has registered a case under appropriate sections of the IPC against the pastor of KJP Synod Mihngi, also the Principal of KJP Synod Higher Secondary School, Jowai, for allegedly kidnapping two minor girls, residents of Demthring village, on Wednesday night.
According to police, Meshak Shylla, Principal of KJP Synod Hr. Sec. School, along with his friend allegedly kidnapped the girls in his vehicle (ML04-C-1999) at around 9 pm from Choice Dhaba, Hill Top Khliehtyrshi, Jowai.
However, a police team on night duty patrol on NH-44 apprehended him along with his accomplice with the help of some NGO activists at Myntdu Bridge.
He was immediately taken to Jowai police station where he was detained till 3 am after medical examination and was released on PR Bond.
Incidentally, the NGOs  including JNU and JNV, who had taken up the issue, later backtracked after the pastor allegedly paid them Rs.3 lakh.
Reliable sources informed that the pastor bribed members of the pressures group in order to safeguard his image.
Even the victims have withdrawn their FIR, the sources informed.
However, police registered a suo moto complaint on the basis of the GD entry made after filing of the FIR by the two victims.
