SHILLONG:   The construction work of the Umsning bye-pass is likely to start by December-end this year.
Informing this here on Tuesday, an official associated with implementation of the project said that the design of the bye-pass was in final stage and it would take nearly 18 months to complete the project.
Once the   bye-pass is completed, Umiam-Jorabat four-lane  road project would finally see its completion.
When asked why a 5 6 kilometer road would take 18 months for completion, the official said that since the road would be constructed on a new alignment it would take time. “We have got the possession of land in October this year,” the official said.
