SHILLONG: Chief Justice Uma Nath Singh of the High Court of Meghalaya inaugurated the Juvenile Home at Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong on Saturday in the presence of Judges of Meghalaya High Court, T.N.K Singh and S.R Sen and Chairman Juvenile Justice Committee, Meghalaya.
The Juvenile Home is built on a 3 acres plot of land allotted by the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to the Social Welfare Department, Meghalaya for the purpose.
Though the building was inaugurated, a large portion of the structure is still under construction.
When contacted, Director of Social Welfare Shangpliang said that the structure was almost complete and only “the electricity and wiring work in some portions of the building was yet to be completed”.
