SHILLONG: Shillong is facing a shortage of LPG cylinders at a time when festive season is approaching.
Speaking on the issue, DC Supply, PS Dkhar admitted that he has been receiving complaints about shortage of LPG cylinders in the city.
He said that his officers are reviewing the matter with Indian Oil Corporation on a daily basis to ensure that the shortage is taken care of at the earliest. Magistrates are also being sent for spot verification to take stock of the situation. He said that the stock depends on the supply from Assam and the crisis of LPG is not only for Shillong, but also for other states. “I think there is a shortage with the production centre itself,” he said.
The DC further said that they are keeping a watch on the situation and he is hoping that the shortage will be addressed  in the next three four days.
