SHILLONG: The MeECL Engineers’ Association observed World Energy Conservation Day on Monday on the premises of the main building of MeECL at Lumjingshai. As part of the celebration, the winners of the two-month long Active Power Song Contest were announced and prizes distributed.
Eben Sangma and Chenie Sinthang emerged winners of the contest with their song “Bulbs”.
Meanwhile the top five participants of the contest were Barikupar Kharnaior (Shillong),  Aaron Pyngrope (Nongstoin), Jonan Diengdoh (Shillong), Spiral Puppets (Shillong),  Eben Sangma & Chenie Sinthang (Tura).
Barkos Warjri, Chief Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing director (MeECL) graced the occasion as chief guest.
