Dry Days Declared
The Deputy Commissioners of West Khasi Hills district, Nongstoin and South West Khasi Hills district, Mawkyrwat has declared ‘Dry Day’ in the whole of West Khasi Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district respectively on December 24 & 25th, on account of Christmas and on January 1st, 2016 on account of New Year’s Day. All liquor shops/IMFL shops/Bar Hotels/Canteen/C.A. Bars/C.S. Shops, Outstills/Bonded Warehouse shall remain closed on the above mentioned dates.
National Lok Adalat
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills district, Mawkyrwat  has informed that the National Lok Adalat will be held on December 19 at the multipurpose hall, DC’s office, Mawkyrwat from 10:00 am onwards.
Tiehtaliar renamed as Dommawiong
The Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills district, Mawkyrwat has informed that ‘Tiehtaliar’ village having census village code 0034 under Mawkyrwat C & RD Block has been renamed as ‘Dommawiong’ with the same census code with immediate effect.
JACATAM meeting postponed
The meeting of the Joint Action Committee, All Teachers Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) scheduled to be held on December 11 is postponed to December 18 at Youth Hostel, at 11 am to discuss on the report of the RTI committee. All executive members are requested to attend the meeting.
MUPSTA meeting
The executive committee of the Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA), will be held on December 17 at the residence of Kenneth Shadap at Professor Colony at 11 am. All the members are requested to attend the meeting.
Cleaning Drive
Mendipathar College along with NSS Mendipathar College Unit organized a cleaning drive in the entire market area of Mendipathar town on December 14.
Advance Christmas   prog
The Office of the State Child Protection Society along with the District Child Protection Units will organize an advance Christmas-cum-get-together celebration for all Child Care Institutions on December 17 at State Central Library at 11:00 am.
Fund raising event
The Seng Samla Bhalang Nongkhyriem, Nongthymmai is organizing a Fund Raising Event, on December 18 at St. Xavier’s Secondary School, Nongthymmai from 11 am onwards.
Various games and entertainments will be conducted during the event. Everyone is invited.
