FKJGP complains against ‘drunk’ Medical Officer

SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawsynram circle has made a complaint to Health Minister A.L. Hek against the Medical Officer (MO) in charge, Mawsynram CHC alleging that the latter was allegedly found drunk on duty.
In a statement issued here FKJGP leader, Banshai Marbaniang said, “On December 15 a bus ferrying people from Shillong to Phudkroh overturned at Kynrang village. When the injured were taken to Mawsynram CHC, the MO was not present at the health centre. Later he arrived in an inebriated state.”
The Federation pointed out that the incident has brought to light the shortage of manpower in the CHC. It also demanded that suitable action be taken against the erring MO.
