SHILLONG: The Executive Dorbar of the Hima Mylliem will summon one of the Myntri on charges of allegedly collecting money from business houses using his own seal and failing to deposit the money in the treasury of the Hima Mylliem.
Residents of Umsning were furious after they discovered that a Myntri of Hima Mylliem, K. Mylliem Umlong, who looks after the markets in Ri Bhoi, furnished false documents to residents involved in various businesses at Umsning market.
The businessmen have complained that they shelled out thousands of rupees to the concerned Myntri but they claimed that the money does not reach the treasury of the Hima Mylliem as the documents are not recognized by the Hima. It was after two Myntri from Hima Mylliem – K. Langstieh and M.B. Kharlukhi – checked the documents of the shopkeepers that they realized that they had paid between Rs.1500 and Rs.10,000 to K. Mylliem Umlong depending on the location of the shop to obtain documents that had the personal seal of the Myntri instead of the official seal of the Hima Mylliem.
