Mistletoe sets tone for Christmas in Tura

TURA: Heavenly, joyful songs of Christmas and carols resonated at Dikki Bandi Stadium, Dakopgre, here on Tuesday evening as one choir after another took the stage capturing the audience with their performances at the Choir Festival,  “Mistletoe – Jingle in the Hills”.
The Choir Festival was conceptualized by the Department of Arts and Culture to promote Meghalaya as a Christmas destination and organized by the West Garo Hills District Administration and Tura Arts & Culture Society.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma with his wife and Chief Secretary P.B.O Warjri among others attended the festival along with thousands of audience from Garo Hills.
Alobo Naga and his band from performed at the event The celebration began with a short prayer service led by Pastor of Tura Baptist Church.
