Like late Lyngdoh, Lapang is also a church leader of the Presbyterian Church.
Moreover, both were also very active in the social field ad they were associated with Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA).
“We were very much part of the YMCA and engaged in social works, moreover, we were together in religious activities too”, Lapang told The Shillong Times on Saturday.
Commenting about the political life of late Lyngdoh, a three-time legislator, Lapang said,” Under me as the Chief Minister, he did very well and he was a very down to earth man”.
Lapang also said that after late Lyngdoh took over the reins of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee in 2008, he had revamped the party, and he did not compromise on anything which was against the principles of the party.
