SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Indigenous Youth Federation (MIYF) while appreciating the assent of the Village Administration Bill (VAB), Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) by the Governor V. Shanmuganathan, wanted clarification on the conflicting clauses in KHADC VAB.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, MIYF said that its main concern is the delay on the part of the Governor in giving assent to KHADC VAB.
According to MIYF, the delay in clearance of KHADC VAB will prevent the traditional heads of the city from exercising their powers.
The MIYF asked both the state and central authorities to clarify the paragraphs/articles/clauses of KHADC Village Bill that confronted the Indian Constitution.
The Federation has decided to send a petition to the Governor seeking clarity on the contentious points/paragraphs/articles/clauses of KHADC Village Bill.
The MIYF will also seek the intervention of the President of the India.
The pressure group, however, refuted the claims of the Synjuk Nongsynshar Shnong Bri Hynniewtrep  that the JHADC Village Bill was passed as part of its  campaign.
