NONGSTOIN: Nongstoin Police on Friday last apprehended four dacoits who were out to rob travelers at Shyllang which falls between Nongstoin and Rambrai.
The dacoits were identified as Pidyson Pdahsiej of Pongkung village (South West Khasi Hills), Banlambok Shangdiar of Siejlieh village (West Khasi Hills), Aiwellstone Iawren of Sangriang village (West Khasi Hills) and Kyntiewborlang Pangniang of New Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills). The dacoits, who were travelling in a Maruti Alto vehicle, ML 06-7313, were arrested from Mawrusyiar village about 4 kms from Nongstoin at around 8:30 PM. After interrogation, the dacoits confessed that they were planning to loot the people travelling through Syllang.
One handmade revolver was also seized from their possession.
