M’laya U-19 basketball team to take part in the SGFI basketball c’ship

Shillong: The U-19 boys and girls under the aegis of Directorate of Sports and Youth affairs, Govt. of Meghalaya, left from Shillong on Tuesday to take part in the 61st SGFI basketball championship to be held at New Delhi from January 2 to 8. This championship is being conducted by the ‘School Games Federation of India’.
Shillong Cricket Association win Inter Zone Cricket Tournament
Shillong: Sylvester Mylliempdah 115 runs off 130 balls and Amiangshu Sen 44 runs off 35 balls helped SCA to defeat East Jaintia in the final of the Inter Zone Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association at Polo cricket ground on Tuesday. Electing to bat first, SCA scored 266 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. For East Jaintia Sumit Narzary and Khilu Pradhan claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, East Jaintia were dismissed for 28 runs in 13.3 overs. Bijon Dey took 4 wickets for 2 runs and Amiangshu Sen took 3 wickets for 7 runs for SCA.
