SHILLONG: A delegation of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) led by its CEM PN Syiem will meet Governor V. Shanmuganathan on Tuesday to know the present status of the KHAD Village Administration Bill, 2015.
Informing this here on Saturday, Syiem expressed dismay over delay in passing of the VAB.
It may be mentioned that the Village Administration Bill, 2015 which has become the bone of contention between the State Government and the various traditional heads, has been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs for examination by the Governor.
The VAB of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) has got the  Governor’s nod ahead of Christmas. It is virtually a blow to the KHADC Chief who managed to facilitate the VAB for the four districts of the state but still without a constitutional assent.
