SHILLONG: The Coordination Committee on International Border (CCIB) on Monday met the JHADC chief and urged him to pressurize the State government to rectify the anomalies in the border fencing work in the State.
CCIB spokesperson G.H. Kharshanlor said they have asked the JHADC to intervene into the matter since the land holding falls under the ambit of the autonomous district councils.
Reacting to a query that only around 100 km of border fencing work was left in the State, he said only 40-45 per cent of border fencing work has been carried out in the State.
He further informed that the JHADC CEM assured CCIB that he will follow up the matter and ensure that it reached it logical end.
Meanwhile, the CCIB has decided that they will not attend any more border inspections if KHADC officials were not included in such inspections.
