‘Illegal fees collection’ by school principal

TURA: The functioning of the Principal of Jana Priya Higher Secondary School (JPHS) in Bholarbhita has come under scanner with the president of the School Managing Committee (SMC) complaining against the authority.
In his complaint to the District School Education Officer (DSEO), West Garo Hills the SMC head accused school principal, Jahir Miah of illegally collecting money, including tuition fees from students of class VI to VIII which has been exempted by the government.
The copies of the receipts of fees, ranging from Rs 600-1000, paid by as many as 15 students were also produced to support the claim. The SMC head urged the DSEO to immediately act on the matter.
