SHILLONG: Miffed with the inaction of the State government over the rising cases of corruption and scams that has hit the State, a group of individuals have come together to follow up on such scams which have greatly affected the marginalized society.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday on behalf of the group of individuals, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said the association will be known as ‘People’s Mission against Corruption and Human Rights Violation (PMCHRV)’ and they would shortly organize a rally in the city where people from different walks of life can come and give their suggestions on how to stop the menace of corruption and injustice being meted out to the marginalized.
“We have decided to move the court first on the Education Scam and the illegal eviction of villagers in the New Shillong Township,” Kharshiing said.
She also observed that there has been a rise in job recruitments through contract service providers who sign agreements with the State and Central government, and take advantage of the employees, who sometimes are not even provided with the benefits of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
