SHILLONG: The forest in Mawshabuit where a 70-year-old woman was found murdered recently is an area frequented by drug addicts. Though police are probing the sensational murder from all angles the needle of suspicion tilts towards the drug addicts who are regular in the area.
According to police, some cash and ornament of the woman were also found missing after the murder.
The body of the woman, who has been identified as Binolin kharkongor, was recovered from the forest on Wednesday night. According to police, the woman was hacked with the machete she was carrying when she went to the forest to collect firewood.
