MAWKYRWAT: Former National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from Mawkyrwat Assembly Constituency, Renikton Lyngdoh, who had earlier joined the United Democratic Party (UDP), is all set to join the HSPDP along with hundreds of his supporters in a meeting scheduled to be held at Mawkyrwat on January 23.
After losing to Congress candidate and the current Deputy Chief Minister, Rowell Lyngdoh in the 2013 Assembly election, Renikton Lyngdoh joined the UDP in the same year. He, however, lost out in the race to the party ticket for the 2014 District Council election to Hadrian Lyngdoh who has now joined the Congress.
Ahead of his official induction, Renikton Lyngdoh said that he aspired to strengthen the HSPDP in the run up to the next Assembly polls.
HSPDP President, Ardent M. Basaiawmoit will also attend the induction ceremony.
