SHILLONG: A GSU leader in West Garo Hills has been accused of demanding Rs 20000 from a person.
Rofiqul Islam lodged a complaint that on January 14, while he was proceeding from Mankachar towards Guwahati in a betel-nut laden truck (AS-01EC-6474) one Sabir Marak, organizing secretary of GSU Phulbari Circle stopped his truck at Shyamnagar and later demanded Rs. 20,000 from him.
Police are inquiring into the matter.
